The Hair Straightening Process

Hair Assessment: A stylist will assess your hair's health, texture and previous chemical treatments to determine the appropriate strength of the straightening chemicals.

Application of Straightening Chemical: The chemical relaxer is applied to the hair, which breaks the disulphide bonds that give hair its natural texture.

Rinsing and Neutralising: After the hair has processed, the chemical is rinsed out, and a neutraliser is applied to halt the chemical process and re-form the disulphide bonds in their new shape.

Blow-Drying and Flat Ironing: The hair is then blow-dried and may be flat ironed to straighten the new growth pattern into place.

Final Rinse and Conditioning: A final rinse and deep conditioning treatment are often applied to restore moisture and pH balance to the hair.
